DMSi’s BuilderWire Partnership Provides Innovative Ecommerce Solutions

Customer service is becoming increasingly more important to businesses, and by utilizing ecommerce solutions, companies are able to reach out to customers in more ways than ever. Staying true to leading-edge technology, DMSi Software offers integrated ecommerce options through their software partner: BuilderWire Inc. BuilderWire Inc. builds sophisticated ecommerce solutions on top of Agility information by interfacing with DMSi’s web service Application Programming Interface (API). By using custom products like BuilderWire Inc.’s Internet Based Ordering System (IBOS), DMSi customers are finding they now have an additional outlet to cultivate robust relationships that keep customers coming back again and again.

Shepley Wood Products, a premier contractor supply company out of Hyannis, Massachusetts, was one of DMSi’s first customers to utilize DMSi’s partnership with BuilderWire Inc. In 2009, they began using the IBOS to create an online product catalog based on Agility product categories. IBOS has the ability to display to Shepley Wood Products’ clients either tiered pricing, price levels or quantity breaks. This ensures that clients will always get the correct pricing based on their account. In addition to IBOS, Shepley Wood Products uses BuilderWire Inc.’s Content Management System (CMS), which allows them to control and customize their website. They are able to have a password-protected system, use the e-mail campaigning features, import and convert Word documents, and utilize built-in search tools. By having this ecommerce option, all of Shepley’s users, even the non-technical ones, can manage their website content to attract customers and maximize profits and revenue.

“BuilderWire and DMSi have collaborated to bring us an integrated sales system that both our customers and staff really appreciate,” Shepley Wood Products president, Tony Shepley said. “Both BuilderWire and DMSi work hard to get it right.”

IBOS is divided into three modules: My Account System, Product Catalog and the Ecommerce Module. My Account System is a tool that provides complete support for online access and retrieval of account information. Shepley Wood Products uses the My Account System to give their clients access to the system to track their orders, accounts receivable, invoices, product quotations and job balances. The Product Catalog is a central point to the BuilderWire IBOS offering and one that Shepley Wood Products has used to build their own customizable products showcase. The last component of IBOS, the Ecommerce Module, allows users to manage their complete online business and provides a B2B or B2C Ecommerce Website Storefront, shopping cart system, customer personalization via secure login and password authentication, multi-tiered pricing, order acknowledgement and confirmation, multiple shipping and pick-up options and more.

Shepley Wood Products' integration of BuilderWire solutions has been a great tool for their customers. One customer even wrote to the company and said, “Thanks for getting me on ShepNet. It puts Shepley Wood Products just that much further ahead of any competition! That is a great tool for us contractors.”
