Cherokee Wood Products Reaching Business Goals with Agility
Omaha, NE – A distributor of hardwood lumber, hardwood flooring, moulding, and plywood, Cherokee Wood Products recently implemented Agility software. Located in Upland, California the company selected Agility SaaS to manage their daily processes and inventory. “Every day we learn something new that Agility can do to improve our business,” says Cherokee Wood Products President, Pete Lang.
Prior to Agility, Cherokee Wood Products was using three separate methods to manage their business. They have evolved from a manual process with informal communications to an automated, structured process in Agility. “We had one system for inventory, one for invoicing, and one for figuring commissions,” Lang states. “Rather than repeatedly entering information, we can handle everything in Agility.”

Additionally, Cherokee Wood Products switched from conducting a physical inventory every few months to cycle counting. The result is more accurate information and a better idea of what is in stock. According to Cherokee Wood Products System Manager Larry Wyatt, “We are saving several hours by conducting cycle counts versus a full physical inventory. It used to take our entire sales staff two days to complete; one to take inventory and another to reconcile. Now I can get it done in a day.”
With Agility SaaS (software as a service), Cherokee Wood Products has simplified their technology, fixed IT costs, and freed resources by eliminating hardware and software components from their business. Servers and the Agility software reside at a remote, secure, expertly maintained “Data Center” that can be accessed anywhere by an internet connection. “Our outside sales reps love the hosted option. They can pull it up virtually anywhere and place orders, rather than calling the office,” says Lang. “I would recommend Agility SaaS to anyone.”
“The more familiar we become with Agility, the faster we complete transactions,” adds Wyatt. “We can produce a sales order in a couple of clicks, allowing us to more efficiently serve our customers.”
