Framing Square Lumber Company Goes Live on Agility
Omaha, NE – Framing Square Lumber Company of Midland, Texas, is among DMSi Software’s newest Agility customers. A family-run lumber dealer focused on customer service, Framing Square Lumber selected Agility to centralize and streamline their business processes.
The search for an automated, industry specific software system began three years ago at the LAT (Lumbermen’s Association of Texas) Annual Convention. “We looked at six different systems,” says Chris Jones, Framing Square Lumber vice president. “Agility has the industry functionality needed at a reasonable price.” Prior to Agility, Framing Square Lumber used a generic system for accounting and manual processes for inventory and sales orders. Jones was impressed with the Windows environment and ability to have multiple screens running at the same time.
Since implementation, handwritten orders have been replaced with a paperless system. By entering data in a centralized location, Framing Square Lumber streamlines the order entry process and tightens inventory control. Framing Square Lumber uses Agility’s error-proof CAFÉ (Component Attribute Filtering Engine) logic for its door and window production to filter down the bill of materials within actual components and previously selected options. “We can easily track sales and purchasing information in Agility without sifting through a paper trail,” says Jones. “The structured format of CAFÉ forces consistency in orders, no matter who is entering data.”
Despite transitioning from a paper installation, Framing Square Lumber managed to run live on the software only three months after purchasing Agility. “We were committed to the implementation process and dedicated the time and resources needed to meet the goals and deadlines that DMSi recommended,” adds Jones.
