DMSi Optimizes Hosted Solutions for Continued Customer Success

DMSi’s commitment to excellence in service, performance and reliability is never ending.  While Agility SaaS (software as a service) or hosted uptime average exceeds 99.95 percent, DMSi will not be satisfied until we achieve 100 percent. To achieve that goal, we have dedicated additional resources focused on optimizing the environment to better manage the continued growth of users on the system; embraced new technologies and prepared for future advanced Agility functionality.

Some of these developments included:

  • Addition of multiple Linux database servers which expands our database server capacity and flexibility to support a virtualized server environment and provide for more seamless failover capabilities.

  • Continued addition and upgrade of terminal servers for greater performance and user load balancing to meet the requirements for user growth and increased Agility functionality such as .NET technology.
  • Upgraded all network switches and other infrastructure, which coupled with new software upgrades, provided a 20 percent improvement in sales order save times
  • Upgraded disk storage devices for greater capacity and redundancy. 
  • Ongoing engagement with our vendor consultants (such as Progress), to provide an unbiased review of our environmental settings and database configurations to achieve optimal performance.
  • Tightened controls on usage of non-essential Internet-based functions such as web surfing.
  • Replacement of critical generator relays and controllers at the San Jose Data Center to ensure proper data center redundancy.  

With these improvements, we have seen Agility performance and responsiveness improve significantly. These changes reinforce DMSi's commitment to make the hosted solution your seamless business solution and positions DMSi towards a true cloud concept. Cloud computing allows DMSi to group a smaller set of customers on a virtual database server with several terminal servers to provide better control and environment monitoring, as well as minimizing the number of customers affected during a potential system issue. This design also moves towards more seamless server and data center redundancy and failover. We are currently testing both Agility and BInformed using cloud computing, and plan to have customers live in the cloud environment yet this year.
