Kohl Building Products Plans for Long-Term Gains
With 10 locations serving professional builders and remodelers in the northeast, Kohl Building Products is planning on utilizing a myriad of Agility's features to help support their planned growth. NEMEON and ABM member, Kohl Building Products has been a user of DMSi’s software since 1995 and chose Agility because of its deep functionality and their relationship with DMSi. Kohl Building Products initially chose to implement Agility using the traditional local server environment, but switched to hosted/SaaS when they weighed the benefits versus the risks.
“We looked at that long and hard, and eventually chose SaaS so that we could avoid having to deal with the hardware required. It will save us money on IT costs down the road,” Jim Coxey, Kohl Building Products’ IT manager explained. “There are a lot of long-term gains I think we are going to see come out of that from an infrastructure point of view, as well as a hiring point of view.”
Kohl had success with DMSi’s add-on products when running the DMS+ software. They are looking forward to sustaining that efficiency as they use these products with Agility. “We’ve been using WMS with DMS+ and are going to continue to use it in two of our branches, Reading and Mechanicsburg,” Coxey described. “We are hoping to continue the gains we have seen with WMS in inventory accuracy. We are very pleased with it.”
PartnerView, is another offering that Kohl has chosen to use with Agility. It is an online portal that will allow their customers to access key product information. “PartnerView is an example of how we can have customers coming to check inventory, to place orders, our salesman can come in to do quotes, all sorts of things,” Coxey explained. “That portal was a big plus.”
One of the primary reasons Kohl converted to Agility was because the software has the functionality to achieve their business goals. “Our goal is to grow our business,” Coxey said. “We feel Agility has the tools that will enable that.”
