DMSi's Move to NaviCloud to Give Customers More Flexibility and Security
DMSi announces it is in the process of moving hosted SaaS customers to the NaviCloud platform. This move replaces DMSi’s private cloud platform, consisting of owned physical servers, with a virtualized cloud environment. NaviCloud will deliver more flexibility, faster recovery time in cases of hardware failure, and unparalleled disaster recovery providing customers with no-hassle computing and peace of mind.
“DMSi is proactive about keeping up with the latest technology,” DMSi’s CEO Jim Hassenstab said. “Our goal is to deliver the best hosting solution possible to our customers and with the move to NaviCloud, we continue down that path.”
NaviCloud is based on the new Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System,) which provides for very fast and fully redundant connectivity between the blade servers (CPU/memory) and all network adaptors for storage and network traffic. DMSi started testing the platform internally six months ago to work out any issues and ensure it was the right move. In addition to moving Agility to the NaviCloud environment, DMSi is also in the process of moving its other cloud solutions including BInformed, PartnerView and other web services. The platform was integrated for customers in DMSi’s secure Tier 1 data centers in Andover, MA earlier this year and most recently in San Jose, CA.
DMSi is taking an additional precaution to ensure success by moving to a new load balancing system for server farms. The load balancing system redirects traffic to various servers in the farm to ensure customer workload is properly balanced for the best possible performance experience. All steps converting to the NaviCloud environment are made after hours with no disruption to customers.
“Moving all of DMSi’s customers to the NaviCloud platform is a very large project. We are focused on completing the move over the next several months, while keeping uptime and response for our customers at the forefront,” Hassenstab said.
For 35 years DMSi Software has paved the way for software innovation in the building materials industry. Agility, the industry’s first and most advanced Windows solution has enabled hundreds of building materials companies to be more successful and run better. The move to NaviCloud reinforces DMSi’s commanding 10 year lead in delivering its software through the internet.
