Newman Lumber Converts from LumberPro to Agility Software
Omaha, NE – A DMSi Software customer since 1998, Newman Lumber recently converted from LumberPro to Agility. Located in Gulfport, MS, Newman Lumber is an importer of exotic hardwoods from South America and Africa including Genuine Mahogany, Spanish Cedar, Sapele, Cerejeria, and Santos Mahogany. They decided to convert based on their long-standing, positive relationship with DMSi and the availability of Agility SaaS (Software as a Service).
Agility’s Windows environment allows Newman Lumber to easily move from one activity to another. With instant access to inventory and sales orders, Agility automates processes previously done by hand. “Information is available at our fingertips,” says Roianne Gutierrez, Newman Lumber co-owner. “We can easily research invoice details in Agility rather than spending time searching through hardcopies.”
By transferring their IT infrastructure to a hosted facility, Newman Lumber has the flexibility to run Agility from any location with a PC and reliable Internet connection. According to Gutierrez, “The efficiency of a hosted server provides us with immediate software upgrades. We don’t have to worry about backups or maintenance.” Agility SaaS simplifies technology, fixes IT costs, and frees resources to focus on core business initiatives.
Although Newman Lumber researched other software companies, their positive relationship with DMSi led them to extend their partnership with DMSi. “DMSi’s knowledge of the industry and willingness to work with our specialized lumber business was a key factor in our decision to upgrade to Agility,” adds Gutierrez.
