DMSi PartnerConnect!09 Ranked as ‘Best DMSi Conference Ever’

Omaha, NE - DMSi PartnerConnect!09, held September 23-25, 2009 in Omaha, Nebraska at the Qwest Hilton, proved to be a successful meeting for DMSi customers, employees, and industry peers alike. Declared the best conference DMSi has ever presented by Dan Vogt, VP of customer service, DMSi PartnerConnect!09 featured networking opportunities and sessions on how to improve business efficiencies in these tough times by expanding Agility use.  It included a complete track of migrating to Agility sessions, productivity tool features, new software enhancement classes, and opportunities to interact with industry peers.

On Wednesday, September 23rd, a pre-conference seminar Quit Wasting Your Time and Money!  Identify and Eliminate Waste with Lean Value Stream Mapping kicked off the event. This interactive seminar outlined how to make the most of your resources by identifying and eliminate waste in your business, a valuable topic in this economy.  Thursday offered an entire day of information-packed classes designed to expand knowledge of DMSi’s applications and productivity tools. The conference concluded on Friday with line of business training and round table discussions.

“The feedback from customers included a great deal of praise for the quality of our team at DMSi and numerous remarks from legacy DMS+ and BLOCS users about how impressive Agility is and how far it has come,” states Cal German, President. “I am very proud of our team and what they do each day for our customers. They are delivering great service and producing great software so our customers can run great businesses.”

These sentiments were echoed by DMSi’s customer attendees. “Overall....this was probably the most informational and useful conference ever. The best for me was the LOB (line of business) breakout session that allowed us to share specific issues and query each other on best practices. DMSi employees did a very good job covering everything from my perspective,” explains Bill Sturgeon, COO of Wagner Interior.” Adds William Collins, Holt & Bugbee VP of Finance, “The industry group interaction, software development and future direction, and exposure to a wealth of DMSI internal knowledge in one location were very beneficial aspects of the seminar for my company.”  

With DMSi Software’s initiative to convert all legacy product customers to Agility in four years, many customers took the opportunity to learn more about how a transition would benefit their company.

“We are still using DMS+, but we are in the process of reviewing the possibilities with Agility and the required transition process.  The migrating classes were helpful, especially the sessions in which we were able to hear from other customers who had made the migration,” said Leslie Simonson, CFO/VP of Lumber Yard Supply Co. “The migration time line presented in one of the classes was a good outline and helped with the thought and planning process.”

Overall, PartnerConnect!09 proved to be a worthwhile event for all involved.  “I found the face to face time with DMSi owners, managers and staff, discussing issues and challenges we face every day and having them appreciate and understand how customers utilize the systems and the things that we would like to be better to be most valuable,” concludes Fred Pond, North Pacific CIO. “I think overall it was a good event and was well worth my time and my company’s expense to attend.”
