Pro-Dealer, Rochester Lumber Rings in New Year by Choosing Agility
DMSi is proud to welcome Rochester Lumber Company, of Rochester, NY, as our newest Agility customer. The pro-dealer has three locations and will be using many facets of Agility with 21 users in a hosted environment. The main lumber yard primarily provides framing packages and lumber; the East Rochester yard has a showroom for windows, doors, siding, etc., and handles most of the special orders; and the third location is on the edge of town and does pre-hung doors, stairs, trusses and engineered wood.
“I expect that Agility will make our business more efficient and transparent,” Scott Stahl, Rochester Lumber’s system manager explained. “I see us moving into a much more modern way of doing business.”
Agility is replacing an aging system called CAS, which Rochester has used for over 25 years. “We have a very old system in place,” Stahl said. “We were evaluating many different computer systems and wanted something that would give us the best value for our money. After evaluating DMSi and others, we decided that DMSi was a good fit for us. “
Rochester chose to implement Agility Software as a Service (SaaS), which is a more cost-effective solution that allows them to access the software over the Internet. “Cost-wise, it is less expensive to purchase SaaS than it is to purchase equipment and having an IT staff capable of managing the system,” Stahl added. “Also, at the same time, it takes a lot of the hassle out of doing backups. Overall, it will be a lot easier and will save us money over the long-term.”
Rochester ultimately chose Agility to bring their business up to speed with technology and because they were impressed with DMSi. “The one thing that stood out is that I haven’t heard anyone in our industry, or DMSi’s industry, say anything bad about the company,” Stahl added.
