Rose & Walker Supply Goes Live on Agility
Omaha, NE – Drywall distributor Rose & Walker Supply recently went live on DMSi’s Agility software. Founded in 1986 in Columbus, IN, Rose & Walker sells drywall, insulation, metal studs, vinyl siding, roofing, and accessories. With expansions and acquisitions in Illinois and Indiana, Rose & Walker needed a uniform, industry specific system for all five of their branches.
Agility helps Rose & Walker increase efficiency and inventory accuracy by requiring the systematic input of information. In their previous system, employees’ varying methods of data entry inhibited purchasing, manufacturing, and sales process control. Now, with all their branches on Agility’s uniform system, they can easily update cost changes and view available inventory in stock. “We used to call other branches to check stock every time we needed product to fill an order,” explains Tina Blankman, Rose & Walker system manager. “In Agility, we save time and increase efficiencies by always knowing the inventory across branches.”
Rose & Walker removed hardware and software from their business by transferring IT infrastructure to a hosted facility. The flexibility of Software as a Service (SaaS) allows the company to run Agility with a PC and reliable Internet connection from anywhere in the world, including their five branches. “The hassle of maintaining servers at multiple branches led us to select the Agility SaaS option,” says Brad Rose, Rose & Walker vice president. This service simplifies technology, fixes IT costs, and free resources to focus on core business initiatives.
“With SaaS, I can go anywhere and have access to Agility,” explains Blankman. “Rather than remotely logging into another system, I can work in Agility and know that I’m looking at the same screen as employees in other branches.”
According to Brad Rose, one of Agility’s business benefits is ‘ensuring employees are all on the same page.’ The synchronization and accuracy between all Rose & Walker’s branches through Agility is helping streamline business processes and increase overall operational efficiency. For example, Agility allows the invoicing of customers on one statement, even if the customer purchases products from more than one branch. By eliminating multiple invoices, employee time is saved and customer satisfaction is increased. Ultimately, these efficiencies increase profitability.
