Agility SaaS Allows SRS to Rapidly Integrate New Acquisitions
With aggressive growth in a down market, SRS Acquisition Corporation has established itself as one of the fastest growing roofing distribution companies in the U.S. They have over 650 employees, 260 Agility users and 52 locations to serve professional contractors. Using a cloud-based ERP SaaS platform, they can rapidly integrate new acquisitions, have access to Agility software from anywhere that has an Internet connection, and they never have to worry about upgrades, maintenance or hardware.
“The most compelling reasons why we chose Agility SaaS were the seamless software upgrades, the ability to incorporate software releases as they come in, that we can access Agility from anywhere and how easy it is to set up a new branch,” SRS Acquisition Corporation’s VP - Director of Information Services, Sonya Wells said.
Using Agility SaaS, SRS Acquisition Corporation has an ERP system that supports their business model for expansion. They began 2011 with 42 locations and will potentially finish the year with 65-70 locations. With Agility SaaS, they can establish a new location in only a matter of days. “Our team starts an acquisition with a week-long training on a Monday. Next, they convert data into Agility on Thursday, perform a physical inventory on Friday, reconcile that and get open orders entered on Saturday, and on Monday morning they open up as an SRS location. It would be much more difficult to do that so quickly and accurately if we were not using Agility SaaS,” she added.
Acquisitions can be a tense process for incoming employees, but SaaS helps assimilate them to SRS. “By being able to convert new locations onto Agility day one, they feel like they are a part of SRS from the start. They aren’t off on an island. It sends a big message to the employees from the beginning. When you acquire a company, there are a lot of political issues, a lot of emotions, so it helps a great deal to have everyone on the same page. They are a part of our e-mail group, our ERP system and when the sales report comes out they are included,” Wells said.
Acquisitions are easier on SRS also. “It is a big advantage making the company we acquire feel like a part of SRS, and from our side of things the accounting and reporting is much simpler because we are taking data from one system—Agility. We spend a lot of time up front getting ready for an acquisition and we can do that because we are hosted. We can get them started with training ahead of time. The new employees can get into the system and start navigating it and familiarize themselves with the software,” Wells explained.
