Schaaf Window Company Completes Agility Implementation
Omaha, NE – As a one-step distributor of windows and related products, including exterior and interior doors, skylights, millwork, mirrors, and shower doors; Schaaf Window Company recently implemented DMSi’s Agility software. A family owned business, Schaaf Window began in the late 1950s with a focus on customer satisfaction and has grown to become the largest independent window company in Illinois. Agility’s Windows environment and viewers were features Schaaf Window valued in selecting a new software system.
“Coming from an archaic, character-based system, we were impressed with the direction of Agility and its point-and-click functionality,” says John Dieck, Schaaf Window controller. In just a few clicks, Schaaf Window is able to filter real-time sales and inventory information using Agility’s custom viewers. Along with viewers, the interactive tools in DMSi’s BInformed business intelligence application give Schaaf Window instant access to up-to-date information on business performance and trends. “The reporting capabilities in Agility were superior to other systems that we researched,” adds Dieck.
Schaaf Window uses Agility’s error-proof CAFÉ (Component Attribute Filtering Engine) logic for its door production to filter down the bill of materials within actual components and previously selected options. CAFE is a convenient way to save time, eliminate errors, and increase efficiency with minimal training and maintenance. “With CAFÉ, our salesmen can build their own door orders on the fly,” says Lisa Kapelinksi, Schaaf Window system manager. “This allows them to quickly write up quotes and easily track sales and purchase orders.”
Agility’s real time reporting and Windows environment help Schaaf Window increase customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, and streamline business processes. “In the few months we’ve been live on Agility we have developed policies and procedures to reduce processing time,” explains Dieck. “We can depend on DMSi to provide the support necessary to quickly resolve technical issues.”
