Siding World Looks to Agility Software for Reliable, Efficient Solutions

Omaha, NE - For the several years leading up to its conversion, Siding World labored with its long time software provider.  Though their previous software environment adequately met its historical and current needs, it lacked necessary upgrades and improvements to meet the growing demands and changing business climates for the future.  Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, the exterior building materials distributor looked to DMSi for industry-specific software that is easy to use and provides superior customer service.  “The size and complexity of our company was no problem for the experts at DMSi,” says Dave Powrozek, Siding World controller. “With proper guidance from DMSi, we brought all 17 branches live on Agility on the same day.”

Agility provides Siding World with amenities their previous software lacked. For example, Agility allows a quote to be released to a sales order and a sales order to be released to a purchase order. Historical sales data can be easily extracted through reports and viewers, reducing the manual processes that were once common at Siding World.  “The financial reporting is easy to obtain in Agility,” adds Powrozek.  “In our prior system we would have to print multiple sheets and manually transpose the data into a spreadsheet.”

DMSi’s unique pay-as-you-go licensing model helps Siding World focus on core business initiatives by simplifying technology and freeing resources.  Before deciding to run Agility on a SaaS (Software as a Service) environment, Powrozek analyzed their current server.  With their network, he found it made more sense to utilize a hosted environment.  “I have no regrets with our decision to switch to a hosted solution,” states Powrozek.  “The automatic updates are convenient and ensure that we don’t drop the ball on maintenance.”
