Roofing & Siding Industry Issues
Fuel continues to be the overriding issue facing our customers in this LOB. From increased product costs to increased delivery costs, this issue is the dominant problem today.

Roofing & Siding recent Agility Go Lives include:
Turner-McLean Supply went live on Agility on March 24, 2008. They were an existing DMS+ customer that converted over to Agility. Their live date was uneventful in that their personnel adequately prepared and were able to take full advantage of Agility from day one.

Roofing Supply Group brought up another wave of branches, pushing to 53 the number of branches currently live on Agility. Only seven branches remain and these branches are currently using DMS+.

In order to help DMSi roofing and siding customers streamline business, Agility added new functionality.

The new Agility Picking and Shipping functionality has been added to remove the complexity and confusion of the previous screens used for processing. The new screens provide a more intuitive interface to increase the efficiencies to be gained from using the 2-step picking process.

Additionally, the ability of Assigning True Costs to Linked Transactions will allow more accurate recording of average costs when special buys are made for stock items for a specific customer sales order. This will ensure that average costs are not adversely affected by these type of special buys.

Since fuel prices are adversely influencing the roofing and siding market’s petroleum based markets, Agility customers are able to take advantage of the Agility’s Price Mass Update feature. This feature allows Agility users to keep up with rapidly changing price increases.

New Order Processing Functionality Available in 3.1.0
The Two-Step Picking process has been streamlined in version 3.1.0 of Agility. This new functionality will provide even greater efficiency to the shipping process by allowing a single screen with a multi-tab format for processing of all shipping information for sales orders.

This new functionality allows for the creation of user-specific or route-specific pick creation criteria. Now, there is no longer a need for keying in specific prompts each time the pick creation process is run. By providing more intuitive information on the screen as you are resolving your pick tickets, the Resolving Step is a more user friendly tool. There is also a new Build Trucks procedure to ensure trucks are being utilized to their fullest.

Please refer to the 3.1.0 release notes for more information regarding this new modification.
