J & B Materials
Bob Young, J & B Materials, Inc. (El Cajon, CA) joined the AMAROK Divisional Board effective September 1, 2011. Bob started J & B in December of 1979 and has since expanded to four locations that sell drywall, steel framing, lath and plaster, insulation and many more general products. In 1996, Bob became a founding member of AMAROK and served on the board from 1996 to 2011.

SRS Aquistion Corporation
SRS Aquisition Corporation earned recognition as a Top National Standard Workplace for 2011 by the Dallas Morning News. It was awarded based on results from an employee survey.

Cedar Creek
Cedar Creek announced the signing of a letter of intent to purchase Wholesale Wood Products, an Alabama-based distributor. The transaction is expected to close within the next two months. "This move backfills Cedar Creek's current coverage area in the Southeast between our current Tennessee and North Carolina branches and further underscores our commitment to growing the footprint of Cedar Creek," said Bill Adams, CEO of Oklahoma City-based Cedar Creek.

Biewer Lumber, a leading manufacturer and distributor of lumber and building products in the Midwest, announced it has acquired the sawmill assets of Pine Tech Inc. located in Gladwin and Lake City, Michigan. The deal is expected to close in mid-May. Cedar Creek serves 12 states in the mid-South and Midwest from 11 distribution yards, while 39-year-old Epperson supplies the Carolinas, Virginia and Tennessee.

Tony Morgan and Bobby Vasquezi, owners of Boston Cedar & Millwork and Bill Kelly of Coastal Forest Products have received the Lumber Persons of the Year 2009 awards at NRLA’s LBM Expo ’10 Industry Recognition Dinner. Morgan, Vasquezi and Kelly were recognized for their dedication to their industries and communities. The event was held on February 4.
