J.W. Garland Joins DMSi Software
As Its Newest Agility Customer

Omaha, NE – J.W. Garland joins DMSi software as its newest Agility customer. Headquartered in Ethridge, TN, J.W. Garland Wholesale Inc. began selling vinyl siding in 1987 with two employees. Twenty years later, the siding distributor has grown to 65 employees with four locations: two each in Tennessee and Alabama. This dramatic growth prompted J.W. Garland to select Agility for their accounting, inventory, and business management needs.

In the early days, J.W. Garland operated its inventory from index cards tacked to a wall. To improve the process, Johnny Garland, owner of J.W. Garland, worked with programmers to write a software system to suit their immediate needs. Noticing the lack of inventory control and employee buy-in to the software system, Garland began researching other options. During an industry trade show, Garland attended a presentation by DMSi Software on warehouse management systems and inventory control. He learned Agility provided more benefits and less hassles than his current system with a similar investment.

Garland’s ultimate goal was to operate all its branches on a uniform business management software system. One of his employees, who previously worked for company that successfully utilized DMSi software in several branches, also provided a strong recommendation to encourage J.W. Garland to select Agility. “Our new Agility system is an upgrade that will grow with us and offer better inventory control in all of our locations,” explains Garland.
