Mobile Solutions Now Included in Agility Licensing

To further assist customers with profit-building technology, DMSi has changed the licensing of Agility Mobile Solutions. The new licensing eliminates fees formerly associated with this add-on software, making it easier to implement.

“Embedding Mobile functionality into Agility enables all DMSi customers the opportunity to easily implement basic bar-code systems in their warehouse,” said Rick Olejnik, VP of Productivity Solutions.  “By using handheld RF devices to perform simple warehouse tasks, users become more accurate with their transactions and more efficient with their time. The licensing change provides each Agility customer the opportunity to leverage the benefits of bar-code scanning, as they only need to designate an Agility license for a Mobile user. All other fees have been eliminated.”

The Agility Mobile programs are accessed with a handheld scanner connected through a wireless network directly to Agility. The screens have been designed for easy navigation, while giving warehouse users the flexibility they need to handle exceptions. The program includes: Picking, Receiving, Inventory Adjustments, and Tag Verification.

Agility Mobile has greatly enhanced the processes with Boston Cedar and Millwork, a long-time Agility customer. “Through Mobile Solution’s scanning, our orders and inventory are always 99.9% accurate. We completely eliminated the problems related to human error and the paper shuffle; saving a whole person in dispatch,” says Joyce Hunt, Boston Cedar and Millwork Controller. Warehouse personnel simply scan or key the correct product, location, and quantity at the time they are physically picking for remanufactured and custom orders. Operating in real time through wireless connectivity to Agility allows office staff to update sales orders and generate pick files for the warehouse to work from. When picking is done, delivery tickets can be immediately printed without waiting for the office staff to update orders. The final result of complete inventory control is better customer service.
