Agility’s Mobile Solutions To Add Two New Modules in v3.1.2

In order to more effectively reduce customer operational costs, DMSi Software has added new functionality within Mobile Solutions. As an included Agility software application designed to be run on wireless handheld barcode scanners, Mobile Solutions allows warehouse employees to perform their duties while updating Agility real time. This eliminates paperwork and all the common errors associated with writing down and keying information into Agility related to changes in inventory. Available this fall in Agility v3.1.2, Mobile Solutions adds new EWP cutting and work order completion modules for greater time savings and inventory accuracy.

For customers who work with cut products, such as engineered wood products (EWP), laminates, and sheet goods; DMSi has added the ability to perform cutting and updating of inventory while within the sales order picking process. No more need to turn in paperwork for back office personnel to update these transactions. Office personnel can either specify the input lengths they want the warehouse to cut from or leave those lengths blank and allow the warehouse to determine the most efficient lengths to cut from. During the mobile picking process, EWP lengths automatically prompt the operator through the cutting process to either confirm the cut from lengths or allow the operator to key in their selected lengths. Once the input lengths are picked, the operator confirms the cut length completion and handling of any excess. This action automatically prompts inventory record and the sales order picking updates to resolve the transaction.

By utilizing a wireless handheld scanner, shop operations can now handle work order completion at the end of the production lines. Shop personnel will continue to use the paper work order that is generated through Agility for the manufacturing of doors and windows. But, now, rather than turning in a stack of paperwork for back office personnel to manually update work order completion later in the day, they can update agility real-time as units come off the line. From the warehouse standpoint, the business can decide if they identify where the product was placed by scanning or keying in the unit’s location. This information will print on paperwork or display in mobile picking to direct loaders of where to find the unit during loading which results in significant time savings. This benefits the company in terms of saving completion time for office personnel, while improving customer service with sales’ immediate knowledge of the completion.

As with the other Receiving, Picking, Move and Adjust mobile solutions, users can determine if the EWP cutting and Work Order completion modules are appropriate for their company’s needs and expand appropriately. The new pricing for mobile solutions allows customers to simply purchase additional agility licenses or convert existing Agility licenses to allow the most applicable mobile solutions modules.
