Jim Hassenstab is the Chairman of DMSi Software. Since assuming ownership in 1987, Jim and partner Cal German have grown DMSi from a small development company into a leading ERP provider for the building materials industry.
Jim cultivated DMSi’s expertise by forming relationships. He sought out people with decades of experience in lumber and building materials, and listened to their insight. These discussions clarified the industry’s unique characteristics and established DMSi’s objectives. Jim is active in several industry organizations, and served on several committees for the North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA) and on the Board of Directors of the North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA). He has also served on the Advisory Council for Progress Software, DMSi’s development partner.
Jim is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Creighton University with a BSBA in Accounting. An avid pilot, Jim volunteers with Angel Flight Central, which serves people in need by providing transportation for health care, disaster relief, and other humanitarian purposes.
“I get to work with some tremendously talented and dedicated folks. We started with not much more than an idea, and have grown to become the leading supplier of software to our market. It’s wonderful to belong to such a great group of highly motivated and hardworking individuals.”
